The African Development Bank Group has unveiled a new digital platform called the Gender Marker System Dashboard to track the progress of gender equality mainstreaming in its projects across Africa.
This online tool is an extension of the Bank’s existing Gender Marker System, which categorizes projects based on their impact on gender equality and women’s empowerment. The Gender Marker System uses four classifications: GEN I for projects primarily focused on gender equality; GEN II for projects with gender equality as a significant outcome; GEN III for projects with some gender-related outputs; and GEN IV for projects with minimal gender-related activities.
